I was a university student who could barely afford data subscriptions. I had no laptop, no connections, no mentor — just a burning question: how do people actually make money online?

I was scrolling through Twitter during a lecture when someone mentioned earning commissions by recommending products. I had zero idea what that meant, but I saved the tweet. That single tweet changed everything. I spent the next week reading everything I could find about affiliate programs — all on my phone, between classes.
Created a free blog with zero skills.
I signed up for Blogger because it was free. I wrote my first post about a study app I personally used. It was rough — no images, no formatting, no strategy. I shared it in a WhatsApp group and got 3 clicks. Zero commissions. But something clicked in my mind: people actually read what I wrote.
Three months, zero naira earned.
